Dr. Jeff Wood, a Hillsdale native, earned his Bachelor’s in Medical Technology (1986) and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (1990) from Michigan State University. After four years as part owner of Hillsdale Veterinary Hospital, he founded Northside Veterinary Hospital in 1995 to provide a state-of-the-art facility with advanced equipment and a skilled team.

 

Dr. Wood and his wife Emily have three children and enjoy spending time with their cats Pogo, Moogie, Bizzy, Figgy, Micky, and Iffy, horses Misty and Tango, and 22 chickens, as well as traveling together.

Dr. Alison VanZant is a 2004 graduate of Auburn University's College of Veterinary Medicine. She joined the staff of Northside in 2012. Her special interests in veterinary medicine include wellness visits, care of geriatric patients, and feral cat management. She is a member of the AVMA and the Michigan VMA.

 

She resides in Hillsdale with her husband, Jeff, their four children, two dogs (Bo and Denver)  and a cat Baby Kitty. Outside of work, she enjoys a busy life with her family, planting flowers and reading.

Dr. Roni Jo Roth first began working at Northside in 2007. A Hillsdale native, she graduated from Hillsdale High School in 2008 and then earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Hillsdale College. She then graduated from Michigan State University and earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2017. Her special interests in veterinary medicine include endocrine diseases, ultrasonography, general surgery, and dermatology.

 

Roni Jo lives with her husband Ted and dogs-Jackson and Andy. Outside of work, Roni is an accomplished equestrian and enjoys showing in all-around events with her horse Marshall in the Pinto Horse Association of America.

Dr. Ashley Waldvogel earned her Bachelor of Science from Michigan State University in 2020 and then attended The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine earning her degree in 2024. Her professional interests include preventative care, soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, dentistry and nutrition. She lives in the community with her husband Sam, and four cats - Norman, Edgar, Wednesday, and Freddy. During her down time she enjoys playing pickleball, reading,  practicing yoga,  watching all types of films (horror films are her favorite), and spending time with her family.
