About Our Veterinary Hospital

Northside Veterinary Hospital was founded in 1995 by Dr. Jeff and Emily Wood with a simple mission: to provide compassionate, high-quality veterinary care to the pets and families of Hillsdale County. After being built in just about eight weeks, the practice opened its doors with a computer sitting on a piece of plywood supported by two filing cabinets—and a small team of just three employees.

From those humble beginnings, NVH has continued to grow and evolve. Over the years, we’ve completed several remodels both upstairs and downstairs, and we remain committed to continually improving our facility, expanding our services, and investing in ongoing staff education to ensure we deliver the best possible care.

We are excited to share our newest expansion, which includes four additional exam rooms—bringing our total to nine exam rooms, including two dedicated feline exam rooms designed to provide a calmer, more comfortable experience for our cat patients and their families.

At Northside Veterinary Hospital, we are proud to blend decades of experience with modern veterinary medicine in a space designed for comfort, efficiency, and compassionate care.

Please note that NVH is not a 24-hour staffed veterinary clinic and does not provide after-hours emergency care. If your pet requires urgent or overnight monitoring, please click here for emergency hospital recommendations.
